warm welcome, warm hearth
women drawn here are special – eclectic, intelligent, deeply sensitive, and passionate about art and ceremony and community and the unseen worlds. we’re gentle and goofy and wise, and it’s good to be in the space together.
at the warm hearth of winter, the spirits and the magic of solstice gather with us.
we set down what we carried in – work, beloveds, homes, service, initiations, grief, doingness that calls us out of our calm center. the 2026 woman carries so much, often spanning whimsy and the mundane and frightful gravitas in our first hour of waking.
our plates might feel full, our spoons expended, our wells a snodge dry. that’s a perfect way to show up. we might bring calm and cozy to circle, remembering how the magic of women gathering on high holy days is ancient, and brings us back to life.
there is wonder and relief and joy at winter solstice, when we gather hearthside to be together, to be with the spirits, and remember slow and kind and warm.
the magic of winter
winter is polar bears and hand-knitted hats, the smell of the casserole in the oven and the hearth fire crackling. if you’re here in the northern hemisphere, winter is stamping snow off your boots, hot cider under stars, warm socks, and allowing your animal body to release a long shuddering exhale that says:
‘thank the gods. the doingness of the year is done and now is my time for deep winter rest in my holt, in my burrow, in my quiet place. on this high holy day, celebrated for countless millennia planet-wide, I can set it all down and honor the passage of time and the passage of seasons, and my own passage through my own life.’
in winter, we slow. we set it down, and welcome the magic back in.
winter animals don’t perform, and we don’t either.
we’re cozy and easy together.
join us for winter solstice ceremony

think comfiest clothes, women being easy together, camaraderie, kindness, slowing down, coming home with each other into winter’s warm embrace.
it feels good to be together in the space.
what we do together
• guided journey into a special wintry realm to honor our big teachings, projects, and initiations from the long seasons of spring, summer, and fall
• turn within and introspect – journal quietly together with evocative prompts
• mini fireside-chats with two or three other women to share tales that our writing woke up. each woman brings the right story – we are wise storytellers for each other
• shamanic journey to the spirit of winter (instructions provided), to ask for help truly setting down everything we tended and mended and carried to get here, and receive a blessing
• perform individual solstice ceremony offscreen, with our prepared materials. the wintry mystery walks with us, warm and kind.
we honor the passage of time, the passage of seasons,
and our passage through our own lives.
what comes after
when our individual ceremonies are complete offscreen and we’ve wandered back online to gather around our improbable digital hearth for a cozy winter potluck, we’ll share food and stories and honor what came up for us in the gathering, and send one another gently into the dark season.
then the rest of winter belongs to you.
we depart for holt and burrow, warm bed and quiet morning, soup pot and novel, bare tree and sleeping creature, the mysteries gestating beneath the surface of things without requiring our supervision.
we have tended and mended and released what was ours to carry.
now we enter the sweet embrace of winter, honoring the passage of time, the passage of seasons, and our passage through our own lives.
happy solstice, everyone. see you in circle!
love,
anna
the rest of winter belongs to you. happy solstice!
